I had the notebook Aspire1200X 5 years ago. At the time it was a very good deal and pretty nice machine

The Acer Aspire 1200 is not a high end notebook, but it sure can run all of the necessary everyday software and can be used for all of the general tasks.
This laptop used to run better with windows 2000, but now with the new windows xp sp3 is pretty sluggish, but it can be optimized to run fast enough to perform everyday tasks.
Even some of the older games can still be played on this machine.

This is again one of the high class notebooks, that has good specification and it sure is fancy looking, but running Windows Vista on it is simply a sin. Why punish you and your machine to work harder and slower when you can just install Windows XP and enjoy your full performance? Well as easy as it sounds (and as it should be) HP didn’t provide the drivers for windows xp for this model. But you shouldn’t worry. That is where me and my blog come in. I have gathered all of the Windows XP Drivers for HP Pavillion dv6-1040ev. If you want to install windows XP on this notebook however, you should first disable the SATA Enhacned option in the BIOS. You can do that by hitting the F1 key during first startup. You should search for an option called SATA mode: Enhanced and change that to Native. After that just boot from your Windows XP cd and install it like you always do.

A friend of mine bought this model and although the specs of this Fujitsu Siemens model are more than enough to handle Vista as an operating system, he just wasn’t happy about it. He wanted to suck the best out of his Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pi 3525 by installing Windows XP, and I totally support his decision. BUT the drivers for windows xp are simply not there. No cd’s when he bought it, no drivers for xp on the official Fujitsu Siemens support web page. And he asked me for help which I, of course, provided it. I found all of the xp drivers for Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pi 3525 and they worked perfectly. This time however, I will publish one click install file for all of the drivers. It is an exe file which you can double click and watch how all of the xp drivers gets installed on your Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pi 3525 notebook. You can also use winrar to exctract the content of this file and install only the drivers you miss/need.

Install Windows XP on MSI EX705

Installing windows XP on this MSI EX705 notebook was a real pain and suffering until I noticed a small detail on the official MSI download page. By default it comes with Windows Vista or FreeDOS preinstalled, but I’m sure most of you would agree that XP will be your preferred choice and would like to downgrade from vista. Well this is where the problems start. My exact model is: ex705x-223eu but this problem is general and includes all of the msi ex705 models.

Problem:

Getting Blue Screen Of Death while trying to install Windows XP. Even when ACHI mode is disabled from the BIOS and Mass Storage (SATA) drivers are integrated with a floppy by pressing F6, the WinXP installation simply stops with a BSOD right before the hard disk partitioning menu comes up.

Solution:

Apparently you will have to choose your BIOS version according to the OS (Vista or XP) you would like to use. This is highly unlikely for a notebook manufacturer and completely unnecessary. I wonder what is the catch behind this. Anyhow you can download the MSI EX705 BIOS here. Remember that failure of this procedure can easily result in a dead notebook, so if this is your first time doing this you should definately consider reading this manual by MSI.

After the BIOS is upgraded to the XP version, you can install Windows XP on your MSI EX705 as you would normally do on any other notebook.

Asus M50Vn Drivers XP

This one is pretty much the same as the previous Asus notebook I’ve published, the Asus N50Vn, with very few exceptions. Most of the main xp drivers are the same and they work perfect, there are only differences at the cameras. Since most of the people don’t know that, here I’m posting seperately the xp drivers for the Asus M50Vn. It’s a shame that Asus doesn’t publish xp drivers anymore and yet it is the more lightweight, faster and simpler than Vista. These notebooks can handle Vista fine, but they are simply not ready for it, and why waste precious resources on an operating system that only looks more ..well childish if you ask me. Actually this machine is pretty good to stand Vista, but why would you want a slower machine than a Celeron processor just to have a new fancy operating system like Vista right? So we have the M51Va notebook from Asus. A great little notebook, higher class can be used for business tasks as well as for entertainment purposes like gaming, watching movies and so on. Yes, you can play newer games who support DirectX 10(by the way, DX10 comes only with Vista, and not with XP) on the M51Va like Crysis, Far Cry, Company of Heroes, did I mentioned Crysis? There are so few games for DirectX 10 out there at the moment and to run them with the full details and experience the whole new features of DirectX 10 hardware you probably need something more than the ATI Radeon X3650. So my point is: you don’t necessarily need Vista for the Asus M51Va. BUT! Guess what, it comes with Vista and Vista only, Windows XP is not supported by Asus for the M51Va. Which in turn means that they won’t give you the XP drivers with it, and they won’t upload them to their website. No worries, again I am here to deliver. I found every single xp driver for the Asus M51Va and you can rest assure as they are the most recent. Here is the list:
